Would you marry yourself?

A friend of mine wrote a very interesting status on Facebook "reflective reflection: would you marry yourself?"  which lead me to this beautiful piece of writing on an Islamic Forum . Assalamu Alaykum wa Rahmatullahee wa Barakatu One of the first things that most people think about when preparing for or thinking about marriage, are the characteristics or qualities of the person they would like to marry. Some people think about how they want their potential husband or wife to look - perhaps they think about such things as hair and skin color. Some men may look for a wife who is an excellent cook, and some women may look for a husband who is very religious. Many Muslims nowadays look for a wife or husband that is conversant in the Arabic language, or someone that is at least a student of Arabic. Nonetheless, most people, Muslims included, seem to go to great lengths to make elaborate lists, either on paper or in their minds, about all the things they want or expect f...

Bodos!

Nudism tourism mooted for central Australia Tuesday March 31 9:00 AM A nudist farm-stay in central Australia has moved one step closer to becoming a reality this week. The head of Tourism Central Australia has confirmed a homestead, 130 kilometres east of Alice Springs, will be reserved for nudists during several months of the year. The idea was raised last year by an anonymous phone call to the tourism body asking it to gauge the public's reaction. Peter Grigg says the idea has been met with open arms and is well placed to be a very successful venture. "There are a number of activities that we'll support, whether it's a nudist type venture or whether it's general type travel - bird watching, four-by-four [driving], bushwalking," he said. "Sunburn might be one of the features we would need to address but we can do that." Mr Grigg says he is excited by the possibilities. "This will be I think a first ever in central Australia," ...

RMIT Muslims Praying Outside

Students lose faith in RMIT pledge Andrew Trounson | October 15, 2008 RMIT University Muslim students have accused the university of reneging on its promise to provide Muslim-only prayer rooms, instead insisting on designating the prayer facilities as multi-faith areas. In a dispute that has dragged on for eight months, Muslim students are boycotting two newly installed prayer rooms at the city campus spiritual centre and are instead praying outside. Hundreds of students have been meeting every Friday to stage an outside prayer meeting in protest. The Muslim student campaign has the backing of the student union and the Christian and Jewish student unions. Even though no other religious group has sought to use the two prayer rooms, RMIT is adamant the rooms remain available to other faiths outside of the times they ar...

Why Women Cry

Copy/ paste- i like the story~ A little boy asked his mother, "Why are you crying?" "Because I need to" she said. "I don't understand," he said. His mother just hugged him and said, "And you never will." Later the little boy asked his father, "Why does mother seem to cry for no reason?" "All women cry for no reason," his dad answered carelessly. The little boy, still wondering why women cry, finally asked the old wise shaikh (scholar). "He surely knows the answer", he thought. "Ya Shaikh! Why do women cry so easily?" The Shaikh answered: "When Allah made the woman she had to be special. He made her shoulders strong enough to carry the weight of the world, yet gentle enough to give comfort. He gave an inner strength to endure both childbirth and the rejection that many times comes from her children. He gave her a toughness that...

ME

You Are Midnight You are more than a little eccentric, and you're apt to keep very unusual habits. Whether you're a nightowl, living in a commune, or taking a vow of silence - you like to experiment with your lifestyle. Expressing your individuality is important to you, and you often lie awake in bed thinking about the world and your place in it. You enjoy staying home, but that doesn't mean you're a hermit. You also appreciate quality time with family and close friends. What Time Of Day Are You?
